The Limpopo Province is where the northern part of the world-renowned Kruger National Park lies. This beautiful province is most visited and admired for its breath-taking scenery and landscapes, and for its easy access to some of the best wildlife viewing in Southern Africa.
The province is steeped in culture, home to the ancient remains of a more traditional life; the culture of the Vendas in particular. In olden times, the Venda people crossed the Limpopo River and moved into South Africa, adopting a place they called Venda ('pleasant place'). Vistors to Limpopo will be introduced to this history at Mapungubwe National Park, which is also the location of spectacular archaelogical findings.
The province borders neighbouring countries such as Botswana in the west, Mozambique on the east and Zimbabwe in the north. This offers visitors the unique opportunity to include these magnificent African countries into their safari itinerary for the ultimate cross-border African wildlife experience.
