This safari offers your hearts desires; comfort, style and grandeur. A safari not experienced by many but for those who appreciate all the good things our country has to offer offered from private charters to private land cruisers to luxurious accommodation in the privacy of a private game park or reserve to view animals at your own pleasure and time.
Day 1, Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by a member of Asai Africa Safaris team, who will transfer you to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for the night, experiencing luxurious accommodation cradled in endless acres of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantation
Day 2 & 3, Tarangire National Park
After breakfast tour the Coffee Estate and enjoy lunch. Afternoon flight from Arusha to Kuro airstrip in Tarangire National Park. A breathtaking afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park follows. Known for its huge herds of elephants, sometimes up to 300 look out for them scratching the dry river bed for underground streams. Stay 2 nights at the sumptuous Tarangire Treetops in a Tree House, perched up in the Baobab and Marula trees and offering awe-inspiring views.
An exhilarating morning game drive whilst temperatures are cool makes the ideal time to spot big game returning from a night of hunting. Spend the afternoon on a game walk and visit an authentic Maasai village. Drive to Sunset Hill for sundowners, soaking up a beautiful sunset and the rising stars over the Tarangire plains. Often there is the chance to spot giraffe and hyena. A night game drive will follow.
Day 4 & 5, Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning game drives through Tarangire National Park. Picnic lunch before flying to Manyara and transferring to The Manor at Ngorongoro, a stately home in the Tanzanian highlands, staying for two nights. Experience generous East African hospitality combined with old world Afro-European architecture, visit an authentic African market in the township of Karatu and take afternoon tea at The Manor.
Two days of exploration of the world-renowned UNESCO World Heritage site of the Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater is 16000 metres wide and the largest, unflooded, intact volcanic caldera in the world. From its rim it drops 600 metres to the crater floor, which is home to large animals including black rhino, hippopotamus, wildebeest, zebra and Thompson’s gazelle. The densest population of lion also reside here. On the crater rim look out for elephant and leopard.
Day 6 & 7, Serengeti National Park
Perhaps visit Lake Manyara National Park or stay at the Lodge for horse back riding, cycling or a spa treatment. After lunch transfer to the airstrip for your onward flight to Serengeti. Your afternoon game drive will take you to the decadent Serengeti Migration Camp in time for sundowners and a stay of two nights in a luxurious safari tent. This vast and rugged landscape is synonymous with high action game viewing and overlooks the Grumeti River with its resident hippos.
Full day exploring the Serengeti, known by The Maasai as ‘Siringitu’ – the place where the land runs on forever. This is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular park, home to the world’s largest assortment of wildlife. Predator versus prey governs this land and you will have a chance to spot lion, leopard, cheetah, gazelle, zebra and much more.
Day 8, Departure
After breakfast partake in a guided game walk and explore the banks of the Grumeti River, an important crossing of the annual migration and home to more unusual species such as the black and white Colobus monkey. Lunch and a game drive en route to the airstrip for your onward flight to Arusha where Asai Africa Safaris Team will be waiting to transfer you back to Kilimanjaro airport for your return flight back home or to Zanzibar for beach extension.
